eConnect Utility

The eConnect™ utility enables a Symbol Technologies terminal to make a connection automatically to a desktop PC, network, or the Internet through an InVision Ethernet cradle and then synchronize data or launch an application. The Control Panel applet lets you configure your terminal to accommodate changing environments.

When you cradle the terminal, eConnect automatically identifies the connection and performs the desired activity:

• Synchronize data with a desktop PC using Microsoft^® ActiveSync^® or other third-party synchronization software
• With ActiveSync disabled, establish a RAS connection with a server and then either synchronize data or connect to the Internet
• Establish a network connection and then launch an application
